The April meeting was well attended. There was a great interest in Show and Tell with many items being presented and lots of opportunity to learn how someone else does a specific procedure. The raffle included a number of bowl blanks donated by members, two $25 Lee Valley gift certificates and a turning blank from Windsor Plywood.
Gary Von Kuster did an excellent job showing us the materials and explaining how he uses a two component material to solidify various materials for making pen blanks. Gary showed us a selection of beautiful pens that he had made from the raw materials he ‘plasticized’ and made into pen blanks. See some images here.
There was also discussion about the club logo. Peter Downing presented three options based on the original Logo used at our Symposia. The group chose one that was considered the most suitable for use on the website and for embroidering onto our turning smocks.
