Approximately 60 people attended the Matisho Memorial weekend. Some people came and stayed and others could only attend for part of a day. A record amount of $4000 was raised from registrations and silent auction and presented to the Canadian Cancer Society. Some people came from Edmonton, Lloydminster, and Hudson Bay to attend and help raise money for cancer research. A highlight of the weekend was the attendance of students from local schools. Teaching woodturning, carving, painting and design for a lifelong hobby or vocation to young people is an important aspect of this weekend. A big thank you goes out to Glen Friesen and all the people who helped put this event together. It was a lot of fun for everyone in attendance.
