November 2018 Meeting.

Persephone Theatre Workshop was buzzing with 28 Hub City Turners as people visited and chatted with like minded folks about turning, suppliers, projects and life.

After years of exemplary service, Paul Schroeder has decided to step down as president of HCT. The next president has yet to come forward so we are running on a minimum of administrative input.  Our short term solution is to have members do individual jobs to keep the club running.  Jim Beebe has offered to organize the demonstrations for each month and Peter Christensen will collect door prize items. Leo is still looking after coffee, Duncan has agreed to stay on as treasurer and Trent is still running the website. Paul will stay on as past president and continue to liaise with Persephone for meeting dates and send out meeting notices.

Josh Desrochers from Windsor Plywood came to the meeting and presented information about services and supplies they can provide to HCT members. Click HERE if you would like a price list of all their hardwoods. Thanks Josh for an informative presentation.

Fourteen members brought items for “Show and Tell”. The diversity and complexity evident in the items displayed by members is a testament to the ingenuity and fun that members are having learning and mastering new skills. Here is a photo essay showing what our members have been up to in the last month.

When processing my pictures I found this orphan bowl.  I’m sorry but I don’t know the maker.  Please send an email to and I will credit the maker.

The meeting ended with the distribution of door prizes to all the winners.
