Four members of HCT have recently brought work for a photo session. As usual the work shows such a variety of styles and techniques.
Duncan Birch has a friend who mentioned his desire to have his ashes put into a football. Duncan did a fine job on this Walnut/Maple urn. The stand was a nice addition to prevent the object from falling over.
Mel Genge was given a piece of Big Leaf Maple burl by Ralph Reid a few years ago. He was able to utilize the voids in the wood to make this beautiful bowl. Mel also made the stand to display the piece.
Leo Fritz used his segmented magic to create this amazing piece. Numerous types of wood are used to generate this exquisite pattern. Colored acrylic is used in the center of the diamonds.
Mike Hosaluk’s endless talent is displayed in this ‘lidded box’ made from Yellow Cedar that is turned, cutup, modified, reassembled, carved, painted and burnt. Mike won the Dimensions 2017, Priemier’s Prize for this piece. Congrats Mike.
