Rick and Michelle graciously hosted our annual bonfire/hotdog kickoff for the HubCity Turners 2019/2020 season in their back yard park-like setting.
What could be better on a cool September evening than a gathering of turners with hotdogs, chips and all the fixings for a bonfire roast.
A few members brought some failed projects to offer to the fire-eating wood gods.
This bowl of Earls was particularly intriguing to watch as the finish reached the boiling point and began to bubbled and spurt as it tried to run away from the flames. I looked for witches and the eye of newt and toe of frog but they remained well hidden.
Something in the human DNA seems to unerringly attract us to gather in a circle and huddle close when a flickering fire is present.
